Piratey

Some rarely seen pirate paintings.
Created for some specific purpose or simply for the sheer love of the subject matter? Um,..It's been way too long to remember.
If anyone cares I'll see if I can dig up some more.

  7. Shiver me timbers!!! More Pirates please! Those are amazing.
Isn't it concept art for Monkey Island?
I remember seeing the fat-mean pirate before (in Mixnmojo maybe).

  9. Hmm I thought I've seen this pirate-art before but... no I've seen a big meanie more zombie-like. And if I check out the 3rd art... it looks like that blonde guy, who's the main actor of four games. You know who I mean ;) Even if it's not an artwork for a game, I still want to see more of those pirate paintings.
Here's a link of some World of MI-News containing the pics you (maybe) have seen before: http://www.worldofmi.com/comments.php?type=news&id=1255&action=read
3 Artworks less you need to look for, Steve. ;)

  11. Please tell me there's a wallpaper sized version of the third? Excruciating begging/pleading/unmanly -quivering to follow.

  12. The second one is really fantastic!
I would love to see more.

By the way, why is that guy on the third picture wearing a sombrero? Can it possible be Stan?

The Pirate is really something else.

  17. @mr.andersson: this is Guybrush. Check the smile and the hair. Ohh and this is no sombrero, just a big hat for a small head like Guybrush's with some feathers on it. But this scene never appeared in any MI game... that's pity.

  23. STARCHIE! I have often admired various illustrations of yours that seem to lagomorphize Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Are these part of some larger work, or are you just a fan? I would actually cook and eat my beagle with a side of Funyuns to get my hands on a poster or print of your "Christmas Carol"-related work. What are my chances, man?!
