Monkey Bucks

Here's a promo coupon I got to paint, probably for some early 90's LucasArts Adventurer edition. It's actually amazing how much of this kind of stuff I was trusted to do with little or no content notes from above, which made it tons o' fun.
I'll see if I can track down my activity pages with the art lesson and the Guybrush paper dolls.

  4. I love the "This note isn't legal tender, but gosh isn't it worth a try?"!

  5. Wow! Monkey Bucks! They have to be legal somewhere don't they? They look valuable to me.

  6. "I didn't know if you were legal tender
But I spent you just the same"

Could you tell something about how you got the idea to paint the coupon like that.

Besides I wanted to thank you for sharing all these anecdotes and fine art.

  7. I'm having trouble distinguishing this from the real money I use. I sure hope the FBI doesn't see this.

  11. mells like good old times (and they are always better). I just realise that the early 90's are far away by now. And even - for me - the last part of Monkey Island (1997) is 12 Years old. And all that 3D stuff that appears after that is nothing for my taste. Cause the new 3D-Stuff has no soul :( - compared with the old drawn style (Well: The new Sam&Max Episodes are actually OK).
