I did this piece over a couple of evenings for a charity auction for the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. I'm pretty happy with the colors otherwise there are some other issues that I would treat differently if I allowed myself some more time. I expect I'll take another whirl with this character. Her name is Merida, the lead from Pixar's "Brave" coming out next summer. It's a project I've been involved with for quite a while, also known as my "day job".

Wonderful Piece. My personal favorite part is how her dress seem to poke out ever so slightly against the background resembling a sort of dagger or saber tooth tiger, almost reminiscent of her future battles in Brave.
ReplyDeleteReally nice piece of work...

ReplyDeleteDo you do commissions? Is there some way I can contact you if so?
Love your work,

ReplyDeleteI generally don't do commissions because I'm so bad at getting them done. Knowing I owe somebody a piece of artwork ends up stressing me out. I'm better at contributing to auctions.
Beautiful, Steve.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response and all your great work, Steve!
ReplyDeleteAwesome to know that you're one of the talents behind that film. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteHey Steve, you should join Double Fines 2D graphic adventure project, Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert are working on it, and with you there, it would be like the dream team of making a point and click adventure. Theyre already funded http://kck.st/A9k3jH

I agree with this reply. Confidence is important in school when talking about some databases. By the way, I'm sure you have an answer to my question. What topics will trigger controversial essays?
