You say Kanutu, I say Mugato
A goofy little painting for an art auction to be held at the office. Proceeds from the mounting contributions will bring high backed-leather chairs, overstuffed humidors and skull-shaped grog steins to an otherwise stark work pod.
Quick and dirty acrylic and Prismacolor.

Mr. Purcell, this is, by far, the coolest rendition of the Mugato I've ever seen. Maybe the only one I've ever seen. I'd like to think I wasn't the only adolescent that drooled over that fuzzy orange bikini top. Nice job!
Cool characters!
Well, anything to liven the party. May I also recommend a laser beam emitting monocle. Great for incinerating your enemies, and perplexing the feeble minded to the brink of insanity. A regular one is almost as effective though.
I wonder if that twinkle in his eye was done on purpose. Lively colours, by the way.
Awesome work mister P.
One of these days I wanna make you a tribute.
Hey, thanks all.
It was inpired by Scott Morse who did a cool Kirk with Gorn painting for the auction and Bill Presing who effortlessly paints amazing women.
If you don't know them already be sure to check out their work from the links list.
Don't forget to tell us how the auction goes!
Ahhh...! Original Trek silliness! I always loved that big furry monster guy. It seemed to me that making friends with him would have been a good idea. Great piece! I hope the auction goes well.
Sweet mother of Mercy!!! Be still my beating mako root!!! This is one of those awkward defining moments in my adolescence. Thank you Steve,...thank you very much!
Looks great! The girl's character is very beautiful.
Steve,
great painting! Loved yer stuff since way back in the black & white indie comics days. not only a great artist, but a very funny writer! always loved how Sam and Max bantered back and forth.
sure nice painting. Good looking characters. Maybe you could create a story with some characters, that you just created through painting. Maybe the characters will have more personality, since you just don't know, how especially these characters are related to each other.
The thing I like most about this painting is that she's wearing the skins of slain Tribbles. They probably breed when they're dead, though... she'll never have to buy a replacement bikini.
Also the goofy look on the space-ape's face. Awesome.
