Battle Zoe

Here's a self-rejected piece that I did not submit to the I-Am 8 Bit show this year. I just wanted to paint a cute girl and she's somewhat halfheartedly incorporated into a broad interpretation of the classic Battle Zone game environment. It's not really a painting, more of a painted sketch but I post because I sort of like the colors and the girl. It was fun to do but ultimately not something I envisioned hanging in a gallery.
Acrylic - 8x12

The costume coloring are brilliant.
Pleasure to look at, as always.

I love it. Although maybe she should be *in* the tank but you can't see her legs because y'know, it's a magic wireframe tank.

It's a great painting, I think you might be acting a little to hard on this one.

i like the 'soft colors' on her pants. are you going to post up what made it to the gallery?

Neat. Hey, just out of curiosity, what made you decide to not hang that one up?

It's alarmingly mainstream, compared to your thought process. Of course, it's really well done though.

Although it's not really my favorite of your paintings, it's still very cool.

Actually I ended up not submitting a piece for the show this year so if the curators noticed at all they are probably pissed at me.

It IS fairly mainstream and not very inventive which made me decide not to submit it. I like the actual drawing and colors though, which is why I posted it here.

Aw, I'm in love with her! How about a painting of her leaping through an alien battleground, unrelated to videogames? Or fighting a giant disgusting monster?

Thanks Emma--
That could be fun. I do tend to revisit the scrappy little redheaired adventure chick motif from time to time in my sketches but haven't seen it through too much. I could update her costume for different scenarios. She could be a fashion doll!
