Years ago I used to buy odd tchotchkes from Seattle's Archie McPhee & Company catalog. In those pre-website days you would actually submit a printed form in a stamped, hand-delivered envelope accompanied by something called a personal check which was a voucher of sorts for funds to be transfered from your bank in exchange for goods. It was all very quaint.One of their adopted corporate icons was the charming and enigmatic Bibo the "god monster." On one of my order envelopes, in a sad grab for attention, I included a drawing of Bibo and was pleased when they printed it in one of their subsequent catalogs. I recently happened across the image posted on their blog after they discovered it in a stash of old customer envelope art.

That reminds me, I need to take the kids over there this summer. Sadly, I've lived in Seattle for 10 years but never been to the store. Even more sad is the fact that my kids have ordered their stuff online, even though it's only a 20 minute drive. Andrew (5 yrs old) adores their plastic zombie characters (including the family with missing appendages), which he got for his birthday.
The zombies are great and the creepy horse mask is growing on me. We went to the store one time when we were up visiting. They also provided us the Martian Popping Things that we gave out to the Hit the Road crew.
I always loved getting their catalogs and wanted to pretty much furnish the house with their stuff, but was vetoed by my husband. *Sigh*

Hey Steve, I love your work. I assume some of it is for sale, is there anywhere (online, as I'm in Australia) where I can buy your paintings? I'm not a collector so I don't really know what to expect in terms of price/if it would be in my budget, but I'd love to see what (if anything) you have up for sale, and get an idea of price.
Any word on SDCC? Maybe a few sketchbooks are left over, eh?
