Submitted for your approval - one random piratey concept painting depicting a moment in a speculative piratey piece of potential film entertainment - circa AD 2000. Stop me if I'm repeating any of these. More to come.
i love the corpse style, like his crusty and mummify of the skin, grat color who give that feeling, and his expression is really good for a revive corpse. is very inspiring the whole draw, is telling a story in only one picture and that is priceless. like all your work is really inspiring for me, i only want become such artist like you. sorry for my english, i dont really well in this language (and in any other). good bye steve
Man, if LucasArts ever took this off again (and if the telltale games go well enough and sales of special editions do well as well it could), I'd love to see you involved in the project. Only how would you ever managed, what with your Pixar job & all.
Now imagine Monkey Island movie made AT Pixar...whoa.
You know with this little pieces of art, you make a bunch of fans of monkey island happiest as a pig in shit. I hope you will continue giving us this please... God save Mr. Purcell!

I assume any similarities between this and any other evil, undead pirates are purely coincidental?
It's amazing, by the way. I think you've really got something going for you in this whole "painting" thing, you might want to look into that.
Mr. Purcell, how long did it take you to learn to paint so well? Even in your early comic covers it's great!
awesome!!! keep 'em coming! (pirate sleeve update coming soon as well....)
Ooooh nifty!
The evil pirate pictured here (let's just call him "LeSchmuk") seems to be cursed by a... voodoo walnut?
APPROVED!

Cheers from Spain!!!
D'aww Chucky... why couldn't it have been you, and not those pricks Barbosa and D. Jones.
Omg this is gorgeous ! Maybe LeChuck would be better without eyes, but anyway ; I would pay thousands of bucks for this painting.
