Pidgeons

It's wedding season so this week I'll post a couple of past wedding presents. This one is for a couple who honeymooned in Venice -- the real place, not the one in Vegas.
Acrylic with a little colored pencil.

Its always refreshing to come home and find a new painting up. It’s a fine piece. On a side note I saw WALL-E this weekend, and since I really don’t know anyone else to Congratulate I guess I’ll congratulate you...Another magnificent story!

That's insanely cool. Masterful brushwork.

I must say I admire your work immensely. I cant help but wonder though what sort of surface you prefer to paint on? It appears to be a sheet of colored paper, like a light brown or beige.

So sweet! I like the colors in this one a lot -- the dark blue shadows and the sky and clouds. The laughing gondolier is wonderful.

This one is painted on white illustration board with a vellum surface. I usually wash a color over the pencil sketch as the first step of the painting, in this case it was sort of an tannish yellow.

I love drawing and venice ... but I love to hate pigeons.
Steve, take a look to my blog and have an eye the "Monkey Island" ilustration that I've done. I'm playing again to the first part of the saga and I fancy illustrate the scene inside the head of giant monkey ... I hope to live up.
