Here is a character design for an animated feature pitch. I found a stack of designs from this project and will post them over the next few days. I tried to be aware of the very broad volumes for this guy and as robots go he's one of my favorite that I've done. Acrylic 6X10

Was this done for Pixar or for an animated feature you or someone you know wrote? Also, I like the Sam & Max reference in the title!

It was a non-Pixar project done when I was a contractor. I worked on the story and concepts with a small crew. Glad you caught the title reference. Maybe my favorite Sam & Max animated episode title.
It's definitely one of the better animated episodes.
