Musical Dumpty

Some time ago I got it in my head to paint a new angle on Humpty Dumpty. Why this nursery rhyme character?
Because he's a living organism carrying the embryo of another organism inside of his own body?
Because he can be destroyed and recreated?
Because he shamelessly has both vaguely suggestive words Humpty and Dumpty as parts of his name?
You got me.
These memories are lost forever like tears in a turtle-shaped wading pool. Or something...

That has to be my new favorite rendition of Humpty.

Do you ever have any painting disasters? I would think you would keep a backup of the sketches, but To ruin it at the last minute or so would be the epitome of tribulation, considering the amount of time you presumably put into something like this.

Sure. With the Red Skull painting in the first post, I initially had another idea that I was absolutely sold on. I messed with it for quite a while before I realized I just couldn't make it work to my satisfaction.
I tossed it out and started again.

Cool picture, looks very different from any other illustration I have seen of Humpty Dumpty.

I always thought that the reason they could never put him back together was because when he broke an oozing abomination of god was unleashed upon the world ripping off the face of whoever came within fifty feet of it. Of course you could never put that kind of stuff in a nursery rhyme, but when an egg starts talking and climbing up walls, you know there’s going to be some crazy shit going down.

Well, when you put it that way... Humpty Dumpty is actually one sick SOB of a character...
